Mountain Brook finished the 2015 season with a disappointing 3-7 record. The offense struggled putting points on the score board as Mountain Brook averaged scoring just 13.4 points a game. Since 2010, Mountain Brook has gone a combined 47-24. Their 66.0% winning percentage ranks 10th in Class 7A over the past six seasons. Over the past 25 seasons, Mountain Brook has managed to compile a record of 192-104. Their 65.0% winning percentage ranks 6th in Class 7A and 59th in the AHSAA. The Spartans are led by head coach Chris Yeager who is entering his eleventh season at the helm. He has compiled a record of 76-41 over the past ten seasons at Mountain Brook. Under his direction the Spartans have qualified for the playoffs a total of six times. It will be an uphill battle for the Spartans if they hope to grab one of the four playoff slots in region three this season. The Spartans open the 2016 season on the road against non-region opponent Gulf Shores on Friday, August 19 at Mickey Miller Blackwell Stadium. Last year the Gulf Shores Dolphins finished with an overall record of 1-9 and in ninth place in Class 6A region one. The Dolphins closed out the regular season with a loss to Williamson by a score of 28-20. Mountain Brook and Gulf Shores have met a total of 2 times on the football field.
